ABOUT
Passion Starts in STEM
WiSE
Established in 1990, Queen’s University’s Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) is a student-run organization committed to promoting and advocating for the involvement of cis and trans women, non-binary, Two-Spirit and gender-diverse individuals in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. Our mission has always been to inspire, educate and collaborate to promote and accelerate diversity in STEM industries.
WiSE operates on three main pillars: Inspiring the next generation of women to pursue STEM, educating our community on the importance of diversifying and uplifting minority voices in the STEM industry and encouraging collaboration and creating strong connections amongst like-minded women studying and pursuing careers in STEM.

High School Outreach
High School Outreach aims to spark an interest in high school students, to pursue a degree and/or career in the STEM fields. Additionally, this year, our goals include adding a mentorship program that will provide students access to university student mentors, and live video sessions focused on advice for university applications, general tips for being a STEM student, and transitioning into college/university life!
